Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-1 to take the top spot in the English Premier League. Salah and Firmino scored for Liverpool and Son scored for Tottenham. This victory sends Liverpool to the top of the Premier League with 28 points, 3 more than Tottenham in second place with 25 points.
Liverpool has won perhaps the most important match of the season by beating direct rival for the Premier League title, Tottenham.
Until the 13th round Tottenham was the leader in the league leaving behind Liverpool and that in its goal difference as both teams had 25 points each.
The first half started with a total dominance of Liverpool in all wards and the first goal for them would be scored in the 26th minute by Salah, who after hitting the ball he was deflected by Dier and ended up in the net of Lloris.
But, Tottenham quickly got back in the game and equalized the score in the 33rd minute albeit with a very questionable goal by Son that was thought to be in the offside position.
The second half started again with Liverpool dominating, but Kane proved dangerous and almost did not score at the beginning of the second half.
After this case Liverpool almost dominated the meeting and Spurs occasionally tried to come forward and score goals through counterattacks.
When it was thought the match would end in a draw, Firmino came on the scene making a break over the Spurs defense to score a header from Robertson’s cross in the 90th minute.
This goal gave Liverpool the victory that after the 13th round takes the first place with 28 points leaving in second place the team of Tottenham which now has only 25 points.
