Manchester City defeated Olympiacos 0-1 tonight in Athens, Greece, thus reaching the 1/8 stage of the Champions League final.
Pep Guardiola’s boys started the match well and managed to score the lead goal in the 35th minute, where the young Englishman Phil Foden scored.
The Greeks tried to equalize the score but City managed to control the match well and in the end got three points thus securing further qualification.
At the moment, Manchester City has 12 points from four matches, while behind it is Porto, which tonight plays from 21:00 in Marseille, France.
With this victory, City has advanced to the knockdown stage in the Champions League. All that remains to be decided is the first place in Group C, where City needs another victory to qualify as the first in the group.
