Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has denied that there was an agreement to join Barcelona, ??after former Barcelona vice-president Javier Bordas had said days ago that the agreement was reached in 2014.

At the time, Courtois was part of the English team Chelsea, after his impressive performances three years at Atletico Madrid.

“It is not true that I had an agreement,” Courtois said.

“I was at Chelsea, playing on loan at Atletico, I knew I would return to Chelsea and I wanted to play there.”

“I do not know why they said it, but it is not true,” added the Belgian.

“I do not think I should talk about everything that is written in the newspapers,” the Real Madrid goalkeeper reacted.

“I think the fans have known my dream of always playing for Real Madrid, and I am happy here.”

Also at the press conference, he also spoke about the legendary Danish goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.

“I remember him, but my idols were Edwin van der Sar and Iker Casillas.” the 28-year-old concluded.
