Ansu Fati is the star and the right man to be the successor of Lionel Messi in Barcelona, according to the former striker of the Catalan club, Samuel Eto’o.
Messi’s time in Barcelona is not over yet, although the Argentine has not extended his contract with the club yet, but his former teammate believes that the Catalans have the leader of the future in their ranks.
Fati, 18-years-old, has scored 13 goals in 43 appearances for Barcelona since making his debut last season.
And with Messi set to leave in the summer when the deal with the club ends, Eto’o believes Fati is the right person to take the sixth place at the Ballon d’Or.
“I think he (Ansu Fati) is the right man for the future.” Eto’o told SPORTbible.
“He is doing amazing things now, so I think the club should take good care of him.”
“Hopefully he is the right person to replace Messi,” he added.
