Cesc Fabregas is closely associated with the Barcelona squad, having been part of La Masia academy and returned to play for the first team under Pep Guardiola.
But the Spanish midfielder, even though he had returned to the childhood club to play under Guardiola’s orders, chose Jose Mourinho as his favorite coach.
“Mourinho was the one who inspired me the most to leave Barcelona,” said Fabregas.
“He told me about the time we were rivals on the pitch when he was at Chelsea and I was at Arsenal, then he was in charge of Real Madrid and I was at Barcelona, ??but it all ended there, when he told me about his project and I still keep talking to him and I consider him a friend, he has helped me a lot and I have probably played one of my best seasons with him “, said the Spaniard.
“I have not spoken to Guardiola anymore. There are some things that have happened and I do not want to talk about them.” Cesc added.
“He was the person I learned the most from, as a player, as an idol and later as a coach.”
Cesc Fabregas transferred to Chelsea from Barcelona in 2014.
