The award for the best new player for 2020 is finally in Haaland hands.
Erling Haaland has been announced the winner of the Golden Boy Award for 2020, following his January outburst at Borussia Dortmund.
The award, donated by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, was recently won by Atletico Madrid member Joao Felix, with the trophy given to players under the age of 21 in Europe.
The Norwegian star won the award in late November, defeating Jadon Sancho, Alphonso Davies, Mason Greenwood and Ansu Fati.
Halland accepted this award today and through a post on Twitter wrote: “Proud”.
Haaland has managed to score 44 goals in the 2019/20 edition, 16 of which came in 18 appearances after a move from Red Bull Salzburg to Dortmund.
So far this season, he counts 17 goals in 14 appearances.
