Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland has revealed who his childhood idols were.
The Norwegian revealed that Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo are two champions he adored in his childhood.
He spoke about two veterans Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic in an interview with Tuttosport.
“Two champions, two phenomena. I was fascinated to see them on TV.” said Haaland.
“They are the idols of many footballers, including me. They are examples to be imitated of the continuity that allows them to stay at the highest level for so many years.”
And for Diego Armando Maradona, who died last month, the young striker added: He is one of the best players of all time, probably the greatest ever.”
“The whole football world mourns him. An extraordinary champion. In my mind, I have videos of his great games and incredible goals.”
Haaland won the “Golden Boy 2020” award days ago.
