Michel, the former Real Madrid footballer, has stated that Lionel Messi can continue to stay in Barcelona.
He says he does not see the 33-year-old outside the childhood club, as “Barca was created for him”.
Leo wanted to leave Barcelona over the summer as well, but the former president now, Jose Maria Bartomeu, insisted and kept him, at least for another year, as his contract expires in June 2021.
There are now rumors that he may leave in January with Manchester City most interested in reuniting him with Pep Guardiola.
“I do not see Messi outside Barcelona because I can not imagine him in another team. Barca is made for him.” said Michel.
“City? You have to spend money and surround it with players.”
