Harry Kane has praised Jose Mourinho as the main part of Tottenham Hotspur for their revival, with the England captain emphasizing that the Portuguese is giving his best for the team.
Tottenham have not won any titles since winning the League Cup in 2008, even though they were in the 2019 Champions League final – but Kane believes with the 57-year-old on the bench, their future is booming.
“We still have a long way to go”, the Three Lions captain told Press Assciation. “A long season, I think, as my career has shown, it took us a long time to be on the line. We have not won trophies yet.”
“It is true that we were close several times so we know we have to work hard from now on to achieve this. It’s a good start. Undoubtedly, we lost the first game against Everton, which was disappointing, but since that loss we are unbeaten in the league.”
“Even the points we lost against West Ham and Newcastle came from a few goals in the last minutes, should have been a victory in my opinion. We played very well.”
“I still think we can improve and be better but of course we are still in second place. We are in November and there are many matches to play, we are on the right track.
Regarding the influence of Mourinho on him, which has helped Kane to flourish in the individual aspect, the 27-year-old remains modest while adding that it is good to have a coach like him on the field”.
“I’m learning and seeing how he’s done in this business, seeing how he manages different situations and different problems, so it’s good that I can learn from him.” Kane said.
