Luka Modric has said that Real Madrid deserved the victory against Inter in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Real Madrid won 2-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza last night, a match which Inter played with 10 players from the 57th minute after Arturo Vidal was sent off with red.

Modric is happy with the three points Real received, which has now climbed to second place in Group B, after Borussia Monchengladbach.

“I said it would be a final for us and we played a good match,” Luka told UEFA.com.

“We did what we were asked to do: we played as a team for each other.”

“We deserved to win. In the absence of key players, we had to play as a team and have something extra individually.”

“We have shown team spirit and character, which we always do in this competition. We are happy with our performance.”
