Jose Mourinho does not think he should contact Frank Lampard after his dismissal from Chelsea, because he thinks the Englishman would not want such a thing.

The Blues decided to fire the 42-year-old on Monday, while Thomas Tuchel is expected to take over the leadership of the team from the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Tottenham Hotspur coach, who was Lampard’s coach at Chelsea (during 2004-2007 and again in 2013), does not think it’s up to him to talk to the former player with whom he achieved many successes together (two Premier League titles, two EFL Cups, one FA Cup and one Community Shield).

“I do not think Frank wants to talk to me or anyone other than those in the family circle and close friends.”

“But I always grieve when a colleague loses his job, while Frank is not just a colleague. He is an important person in my career and I am sorry for what happened.”

“However, this is the brutality of football, especially modern football, so when you become a coach you already know that sooner or later it will happen to you.” Mourinho told a news conference.
