Milan is making a perfect journey in the championship and has managed to accumulate 26 points in the first 10 weeks, leading by 4 points ahead of second place and giving from week to week confirmations that it is a serious candidate for the champion title this season.
Red and Black coach Stefano Pioli has given an interview to Italian media, where he admitted that the team is doing very well on the field, but stressed that it is still early to talk about the champion title, as only a quarter of the championship has been played.
“We have to be balanced and intelligent, because last season we closed the championship 12 points away from the Champions zone and 17 away from the winning Juventus. We are doing very well on the field and we have grown, but only 10 weeks have been played and it is too early to think about the champion title. We must have the courage to continue the growth process and give the maximum on the field, to accumulate as many points as possible. Then in April we will do the calculations and see how far we can go.” said the Milan coach.
Swedish veteran Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played an essential role in the rebirth of Milan, since since his arrival, the Red and Blacks have only seen growth, which is acknowledged by coach Pioli himself, who adds that now the team has learned to play even without 39- year old on the field.
“The team is aware of its qualities and now has clear concepts of the game. Having said that, we all know how important Zlatan’s presence has been for the growth of the group and how much it has helped us on the pitch. However, we have other alternatives to use, when Ibra does not play “, said Pioli.
