Brendan Rodgers has criticized Chelsea for not giving Frank Lampard time before he was fired.
The English coach was fired this Monday (January 25), after poor results in the Premier League.
The former Derby County coach is also said to have strained relations with the club’s director, Marina Granovskaia, who held a meeting with Lampard this Monday.
After half an hour of talks, it was learned that the Englishman has been fired, with Rodgers criticizing Chelsea’s approach to coaches.
“I am really sad for Lampard, I know how much the club means to him,” said the Leicester coach.
“Unfortunately he was not given time. I really feel sorry for him, he also did great things as a player.”
“He did a great job last season and you can not deny that,” added Rodgers.
Lampard is expected to be replaced by Thomas Tuchel within these days.
