Cristiano Ronaldo, who rested against Benevento at the weekend in Serie A, decides for himself when to play and when to rest, according to Italian media.
The Portuguese striker is Juventus’ top scorer so far this season with nine goals in seven games in all competitions.
Ronaldo did not play against Benevento on Saturday and according to some media in Italy, he will play against Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday, despite Juve already qualifying among the top 16 in the Champions League.
The old lady, however, is six points behind Serie A leader Milan, after nine games so far.
According to Il Corriere della Sera, coach Andrea Pirlo has problems with the dressing room and suggests that Ronaldo himself decided not to play against Benevento.
Some Juventus players are not clear how to act on the field, especially in the defensive phase under Pirlo tactics.
“CR7’s choice of which match to take is at least deserved: identify the problems before it is too late to solve them,” the Italian daily reported.
Juve has won just one of four games in which Ronaldo has not played this season.
