The coach of the team from Camp Nou believes that the incessant comments from club officials about the future of the Argentine, are a distraction and do not help.

Ronald Koeman has told some Barcelona faces to stop making public statements about Lionel Messi’s future.

The coach made these comments after acting president Carlos Tusquets said this week that the club should have sold Messi at the end of last season.

Candidates for the presidency of Barcelona have also made long statements about the future of the Argentine but Koeman believes that this does not help and encourages speculation.

“We know the situation with Leo.” Koeman said. “If there’s anything anyone has to say, it’s Leo himself, I don’t care about outside comments.”

“If we make comments from our own club, it does not help to have a peace of mind in our work. We can not control the comments from the outside, from the inside it is different.”
