La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed who were the two players Andrea Pirlo wanted at Juventus, but the club was unable to sign them.

The “Old Lady” had a very tight summer transfer window, offering names like Weston McKennie, Arthur, Dejan Kulusevski and Alvaro Morata who arrived in Turin.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, there were two players Pirlo wanted to bring to Continassa.

The first is a well-known name: Edin Dzeko.

The Serie A giants had a deal to sign with the Roma player, but the Giallorossi failed to sign Arek Milik from Napoli as a replacement, thus wishing Dzeko’s move to Juventus.

Juventus signed Alvaro Morata in his place, and the Spaniard has shown high level in this start after he scored six goals and provided two assists in eight games in all competitions so far this season.

The other player Pirlo reportedly wanted to sign was Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli.

However, Sassuolo wanted around 40 million euros for him, an amount that the nine-time Serie A champions could not pay.
