Real Madrid was defeated tonight with a result of 1-2 at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium, thus being eliminated from the Spanish Super Cup. Both goals were scored by Garcia in the first half, one from a Real defense error and another from the penalty spot.
There will be no El Clasico final in the Spanish Super Cup final.
That’s because Real Madrid lost the semi-final against Athletic Bilbao at Alfredo di Stefano tonight.
The Basque team scored both goals in the first half.
Garcia would use a mistake in Real Madrid’s defense to score the first goal in the 18th minute of the match.
Bilbao would double the lead in the 38th minute of the match with a penalty, to end the first half with a solid lead.
In the second half Real Madrid was better and managed to narrow the lead in the 73rd minute through their main striker Karim Benzema.
By the end of the match Real Madrid had some good chances to score but failed to win it.
In the end Bilbao won and qualified for the Super Cup final where they will play against Barcelona.
